«Українське Радіо на першому місці серед 34 радіостанцій України за довірою та споживанням новин, також зросла тривалість слухання. Наші ведучі зміна за зміною працюють в прямому ефірі з перших днів війни. Ми ні на секунду не переривали мовлення, й на відміну від мобільного зв'язку, радіо покриває 100-200 км та є найбільш надійним і постійним засобом комунікації», — наголосив Дмитро Хоркін, член правління Суспільного Мовлення, відповідальний за платформи радіо, телебачення та діджитал, під час інтерв’ю Латвійському радіо (Latvijas Radio).

Зокрема під час евакуації з Маріуполя, коли не працював ні український мобільний зв’язок, ні телемовлення, населення дізнавалося про шляхи евакуації завдяки Українському Радіо на приймачах й телефонах: «Нам вдалося долучитися до порятунку та евакуації людей. Потім ці люди до нас приходили, писали нам повідомлення, листи. В такі моменти ми розуміємо, для кого і для чого працюємо. Для нас це важливо. Така ж ситуація була в Бучі, Ірпені, Гостомелі, коли люди слухали радіо в підвалах. Радіо всюдисуще, всепроникне. В Ізюмі, коли наша служба новин знімала про визволення міста, чоловік і жінка розповіли, що сім місяців окупації сиділи в підвалі, ховаючи там український прапор, й вийшли звідти лише тоді, коли почули по радіо, що українські військові зайшли в Ізюм».

Дмитро Хоркін відзначив, що радіоприймачі — нині популярний атрибут серед українців, бо в підвалах під час тривог, в дорозі чи за відсутності мобільного зв’язку — завжди знаєш, що відбувається на фронті, з яким зверненням виступив президент і які нові інформаційні вкиди запускає росія.

«“Русскій фейк, іді на***!” — спільний проєкт громадського об’єднання “Детектор медіа” та Українського Радіо, де аналітик й експерт Вадим Міський викриває російські фейки. Торік ця передача стала дуже популярною й у вигляді подкастів. Як доказ, ми здобули перемогу в аудіопремії серед подкастів», — підкреслив член правління Суспільного, відповідаючи на питання про інформаційну боротьбу.

У коментарі Баскському суспільному радіо в Іспанії (Euskadi Irratia – EITB) Дмитро також розповів про радіомовлення, яке під час тривог ведеться з облаштованих студій в бункерах, так само й телебачення: «Це виклик для наших команд, але ми для цього й створені. Українське Радіо — одне із найстарших радіомовників у світі. Нам 98 років. П’ятий мовник у світі після Лондона, Піттсбурга, Парижа, Петрограда. Ми не зупиняли радіомовлення ні під час Другої світової війни, ні зараз. Це наш виклик».

Окрім інформаційних програм на Українському Радіо, до родини Суспільного Мовлення входять молодіжний Радіо Промінь та Радіо Культура, які транслюють також футбол з коментаторами, Нацвідбори Євробачення. Додатково на Радіо Культура відновили освітні передачі для дітей і вчителів, радіодрами, класику, аудіокниги, де «заспокоюємо людей і даємо мистецтво».

«Ми справді за цей рік маємо всю палітру передач — від новин, прямих ефірів суспільно-політичних програм до розважально-просвітницького контенту. Звісно, є певні обмеження воєнного часу, але Суспільне Мовлення надає достовірну інформацію з дотриманням стандартів журналістики та емоційного балансу. Ми не лише констатуємо певні факти, а й даємо надію, вихід. Це відбувається у діалозі з аудиторією», — підсумував Дмитро Хоркін.

Dmytro Khorkin: “From the morning of 24 February until the end of the war, Ukrainian Radio will broadcast only live”

“Ukrainian Radio is in first place among 34 Ukrainian radio stations in terms of trust and news consumption, and the duration of listening has also increased. Our presenters have been working on the air shift after shift since the first days of the war. We have not interrupted broadcasting for a single second, and unlike mobile communication, radio covers 100-200 km and is the most reliable and permanent means of communication,” Dmytro Khorkin, a member of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine responsible for radio, television and digital platforms, said during an interview with Latvijas Radio.

In particular, during the evacuation from Mariupol, when neither Ukrainian mobile communications nor television broadcasting worked, the population learned about the evacuation routes through Ukrainian Radio on their receivers and phones: “We managed to join the rescue and evacuation of people. Then these people came to us, wrote us messages and letters. At such moments, we realize who we are working for and why. It is important for us. The situation was the same in Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel, when people listened to the radio in basements. Radio is omnipresent and pervasive. In Izium, when our news service was filming the liberation of the city, a man and a woman told us that they had been sitting in the basement for seven months of occupation, hiding the Ukrainian flag, and came out only when they heard on the radio that the Ukrainian military had entered Izium.”

Dmytro Khorkin noted that radios are now a popular attribute among Ukrainians, because in basements during air raid alerts, on the road or in the absence of mobile communication, you always know what is happening at the front, what the President has said and what new information fakes russia is launching.

“russian Fake, Go F*** Yourself! is a joint project of the Detector Media NGO and Ukrainian Radio, where analyst and expert Vadym Miskyi exposes russian fakes. Last year, this programme became very popular in the form of podcasts. As a proof, we won the audio award among podcasts,” emphasized the member of Suspilne Managing Board, answering the question about the information warfare.

In a commentary to the Basque Public Radio in Spain (Euskadi Irratia - EITB), Dmytro also spoke about radio broadcasting, which is conducted from equipped studios in bunkers during air raid alerts, as well as television: “This is a challenge for our teams, but we were created for this. Ukrainian Radio is one of the oldest radio broadcasters in the world. We are 98 years old. We are the fifth broadcaster in the world after London, Pittsburgh, Paris, and Petrograd. We did not stop broadcasting either during the Second World War or now. This is our challenge.”

In addition to news programmes on Ukrainian Radio, the Suspilne Ukraine family includes the youth radio station Radio Promin and Radio Kultura, which also broadcast football with commentators and the Eurovision National Selections. Additionally, Radio Kultura has resumed educational programmes for children and teachers, radio dramas, classics, and audiobooks, where “we calm people down and give them art.”

“This year, we really have the whole palette of programmes - from news, live broadcasts of social and political programmes to entertainment and educational content. Of course, there are certain restrictions in wartime, but Suspilne Ukraine provides reliable information in compliance with the standards of journalism and emotional balance. We not only state certain facts, but also give hope, a way out. This happens in a dialog with the audience,” summarized Dmytro Khorkin.
