Команда Суспільного Мовлення готується до запуску бета-версії платформи унікальних архівних відео- та аудіозаписів — Суспільне Медіатека. 

Суспільне Медіатека — це окремий сайт, який згодом налічуватиме тисячі записів — від 1950-х років і до сьогодні. Серед них — історичні відео, як-от зустріч з Іваном Миколайчуком у кінотеатрі «Жовтень» (1965 рік), змагання зі слалому на горі Тростян (1969 рік), інтерв’ю Леоніда Каденюка чи В’ячеслава Чорновола, кадри з фабрики «Світоч» у 1965 році чи «Азовсталі» у 2003-му.

«Ми сподіваємося, що платформа стане корисною та цікавою для медійників, істориків, студентів, дослідників. Адже завдання, яке ми ставимо перед собою, — опублікувати відео- й аудіоматеріали, яких ви не знайдете більше ніде. Зазвичай це унікальні кадри з найрізноманітніших сфер та за доволі тривалий період. Архіви Суспільного — це неосяжні масиви даних, адже йдеться про спадок не лише центрального телебачення, а й про всі обласні телерадіокомпанії. Тому роботи в нас дуже багато, але й завзяття та віри в те, що робимо потрібну та корисну для суспільства справу, — ще більше», — каже Таїсія Турчин, керівниця проєкту з оцифрування архівних матеріалів Суспільного Мовлення.

Для зручності користувачів усі записи будуть поділені за категоріями: політика, персоналії, культура тощо. Окремий розділ присвятять архівному відео про російсько-українську війну. Йдеться саме про немонтовані матеріали, або як їх називають журналісти — «чорновики». Їх оприлюднення може стати корисним для розслідування злочинів рф на території України.

Знайти необхідні архівні записи можна буде через пошукову систему та за тегами. 

«Збереження архівних матеріалів надзвичайна складна та дорога частина нашої діяльності. Але я неймовірно пишаюсь, що завдяки допомозі Євросоюзу ми розпочинаємо цей амбітний проєкт. Сподіваюсь, що вже в цьому році ми зможемо поділитися перлинами наших сховищ», — каже Юрій Бойчук, технічний директор Суспільного Мовлення.

Для перегляду матеріалів користувачам платформи необхідно буде авторизуватися. Авторські права на всі архіви належать Суспільному. 

Запустити бета-версію сайту Суспільне Медіатека планують до кінця 2023 року. Наразі над наповненням платформи працюють декілька редакторів, які сортують, описують і вивантажують кожен запис. З відкриттям доступу для всіх користувачів команда Суспільного запросить разом тестувати платформу — залишаючи пропозиції щодо найцікавішого контенту через форму зворотного зв’язку. 

Нагадаємо, Суспільне та Львівське комунальне підприємство «Львівське радіо» спільно оцифровують аналогові радіозаписи. 

Загалом, Суспільне Мовлення в межах проєкту планує оцифрувати сотні тисяч годин власних архівних матеріалів, де задокументовані події, які несуть історичну цінність у становленні незалежності України, та побудує хаб Академії Суспільного Мовлення у Львові для доступу до них через створення VOD-платформи.

* Проєкт співпраці Суспільного Мовлення та Європейського Союзу в особі Європейської комісії «Капіталізація аудіовізуальних архівів НСТУ для залучення громадськості в Україні» триватиме три роки й три місяці — із 2021 до початку 2025-го.

Проєкт виконується за фінансової допомоги Європейського Союзу. Зміст документів та матеріалів в рамках цього проєкту є виключною відповідальністю АТ «НСТУ», і ні за яких обставин не може розглядатися як такий, що відображає позицію Європейського Союзу.

Suspilne Mediateka preparing to launch

The team of Suspilne Ukraine is preparing to launch the beta version of the platform of unique archival video and audio recordings ⎼ Suspilne Mediateka (Media Library). 

Suspilne Mediateka is a separate website that will eventually include thousands of recordings, from the 1950s to the present day. There are historical videos among them, such as a meeting with Ivan Mykolaichuk at the Zhovten movie theatre (1965), slalom competition on Trostian Mountain (1969), interviews with Leonid Kadeniuk or Viacheslav Chornovil, footage from the Svitoch factory in 1965 or Azovstal in 2003.

"We hope that the platform will be useful and interesting for media professionals, historians, students, and researchers. After all, the task that we set  for ourselves is to publish video and audio materials that you won’t find anywhere else. Usually, these are unique footages from various fields and over a long period of time. The archives of Suspilne Ukraine are vast amounts of data, because we are talking about the heritage of not only the central television, but also all regional broadcasting companies. That is why we have a lot of work, but even more enthusiasm and belief that we are doing a necessary and useful thing for society," says Taisiia Turchyn, project manager of the digitisation of archival materials of Suspilne Ukraine.

For the convenience of users, all records will be divided into categories: politics, personalities, culture, etc. A separate section will be devoted to archival videos about the Russo-Ukrainian war. These are unedited materials, or as journalists call them, "drafts". Their publication may be useful for investigating Russian crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

The necessary archival records will be found through a search engine and by tags. 

"Preserving archival materials is an extremely difficult and expensive part of our work. But I am incredibly proud that thanks to the help of the European Union, we are launching this ambitious project. I hope that already this year we will be able to share the pearls of our storages," says Yurii Boichuk, Technical Director of Suspilne Ukraine.

To view the materials, platform users will need to log in. The copyright to all archive materials belongs to Suspilne Ukraine. 

It is planned to launch the beta version of the Suspilne Mediateka website by the end of 2023. Several editors are currently working on the content of the platform, sorting, describing and uploading each record. When access is opened to all users, the team of Suspilne Ukraine will invite everyone to test the platform together with an opportunity to leave suggestions for the most interesting content through the feedback form.

Let us remind you that Suspilne Ukraine and Lviv Radio, Lviv radio municipal enterprise, are jointly digitising analog radio recordings. 

In general, within the framework of the project, Suspilne Ukraine plans to digitise hundreds of thousands of hours of its own archival materials, which document events of historical value in the formation of Ukraine's independence, and to build a hub of the Public Media Academy in Lviv to access them through the creation of a VOD platform.

* The project of cooperation between Suspilne Ukraine and the European Union represented by the European Commission Capitalization of UA: PBC audiovisual archives for civic engagement in Ukraine will last for three years and three months, from 2021 to the beginning of 2025.
