Україна визначилась зі своїм представником на Євробачення-2023. За підсумками Нацвідбору, ним став гурт із Тернополя TVORCHI із піснею «Heart Of Steel». Чи була для Андрія Гуцуляка та Джеффрі Кенні несподіванкою їхня перемога, чим вдалося зачепити глядача та що робитимуть, аби гідно представити Україну на конкурсі у Ліверпулі — про це музиканти розповіли в ексклюзивному інтерв'ю Ксенії Івась на Радіо Промінь.

Вітаю вас, ви переможці! Як почуваєтеся? Ваша мрія здійснилася?

Андрій: Насправді ми не очікували такого, все це стало приємним шоком, і ми відчуваємо величезну вдячність кожному, хто проголосував за нас. Це велика відповідальність у майбутньому — представити Україну гідно. Ми будемо працювати та робити все для того, аби зробити пісню, номер і костюми кращими. І все буде Україна!

Як почався ваш ранок наступного дня після перемоги? Ви хоч трішки поспали?

Джеффрі: Це був важкий день і, звісно, ми трошки хочемо спати.

Андрій: Я пів ночі думав про те, що робити завтра. Думаю: ого, скільки роботи! Але будемо робити.

Як вам в статусі переможця? Ви вже зрозуміли, що відбулося?

Андрій: Ми зрозуміли всю відповідальність, яка лягла на нас. Але ми ті самі хлопці, які були вчора. Просто зараз ми повинні показати всьому світу, які сталеві серця у всіх українців. Які ми нескорені, незламні, ми усміхаємося — з нас потрібно брати приклад, тягнутися до нас та допомагати нам ще більше.

Ми виступили, пообіймалися з командою, сходили на інтерв'ю. Після Євробачення збиралися їхати додому — купили квитки на першу ночі. І тут ми виграємо, і все — квитки пропали. Тому ми прийшли додому, посиділи, поговорили та й лягли спати.

Хто з артистів привітав особисто?

Андрій: Ми приємно вражені — дуже багато людей! Аліна Паш, Настя Каменських – насправді, дуже багато артистів.

Джеффрі: Джамала. Юля Саніна.

Андрій: Це ми ще свої сторінки у соцмережах не відкривали. Дні репетицій в метро були дуже холодними — треба було трішки реабілітуватися. Трошки прихворіли.

А ви вже встигли подивитися телевізійну версію вашого виступу? Можливо, щось не потрапило на камери, а ви хотіли, щоб люди це побачили?

Андрій: Велика повага команді, що займалася організацією, — все, що ми хотіли показати, ми показали. Це була важка робота. Декілька днів поспіль в метро. Цінуємо, любимо і поважаємо.

У соцмережах шквал коментарів — з'являються і українські, і європейські коментарі. Ви вже передивлялися якісь відеореакції?

Андрій: Перші декілька бачив. Ми раді, що люди відчули все, що ми вкладали в наш номер, все, що ми вкладали в пісню, і віддали свій голос за нас. Це дуже цінно. Багато позитивних коментарів. Я впевнений, що є і негативні, але ми до них ще не дійшли.

Багато людей пишуть, що взагалі збиралися голосувати за інших учасників. Але в останній момент все ж обрали вас. Як ви гадаєте, чим вам вдалося взяти глядача?

Андрій: Та ми не думали, чим його взяти. Ми й не думали, що переможемо. Ми просто робили це, як відчуваємо. Робили це щиро. Та й не тільки ми. Уся команда, яка доклала максимум зусиль для того, що ми зробили вчора.

Це і крутий український дизайнер Іван Фролов, який зробив ці чудові костюми зі сталевими серцями. Це режисер Олег Боднарчук, наші менеджери — Юля, Петро, хореограф Руслан. Усі! Це така наша синергія і відповідний результат. Ми виклалися на максимум. Беремо досвід, який ми отримали тут, і рухаємося вперед до Ліверпуля.

Ви спілкувалися з членами журі після конкурсу?

Андрій: Так, звісно. Ми вдячні за високі оцінки. Ми вдячні Юлі Саніній за її коментарі. Візьмемо до уваги поради й зробимо все для того, щоб пісня стала кращою.

Усіх цікавить, чи будете ви переробляти пісню так, як порадила вам Юля Саніна?

Андрій: Ми прислухалися до порад і постараємося зробити пісню більш потужною.

Джеффрі: Трішки змінимо приспів.

Андрій: Але тільки інструментал. Слова важливі в нашій пісні. А от музику зробимо потужнішою. Можливо, навіть вокал перепишемо, щоб усі чули, яке це серце зі сталі.

Я дивилася на ваші розкішні костюми та щиро вірила, що вам в них тепло.

Андрій: Було прохолодно, але ми гарячі хлопці, зігрілися.

Щоб офіційно набути статус представника України на Євробаченні, вам потрібно тепер підписати контракт із Суспільним. Ви вже знаєте, коли це станеться?

Андрій: Ми чули, що це буде протягом п'яти днів. Поки ми з ним ознайомлюємося.

Окрім представників Суспільного, з якою командою ви будете готувати номер та в принципі готуватися до конкурсу наступного року?

Андрій: Ми про це поки що не думали. Насправді ми зараз збираємося трішечки відпочити від Нацвідбору.

Усі, хто дивилися Нацвідбір, кажуть, що саме ваш номер є повністю готовим, і всі погоджуються з тим, що так він і має виглядати на сцені Євробачення-2023.

Андрій: Наша місія — дивувати. Якщо ми покажемо те саме, що усі вже подивилися в YouTube, не буде того ефекту. Ми зробимо ще кращі костюми та ще кращий номер. Хочу, щоб люди, які побачать це у Ліверпулі, сказали «Вау!». Можливо, номер зміниться повністю. Але наш меседж залишиться. Ми хочемо розказати всьому світу, які ми незламні, які ми сильні, які ми єдині. Весь світ повинен бути єдиним проти зла заради миру.

TVORCHI, winners of the National Selection for Eurovision 2023: “Our mission is to surprise”

Ukraine has chosen its representative for Eurovision 2023. According to the results of the National Selection, this is the band TVORCHI from Ternopil with the song Heart of Steel. The musicians told in an exclusive interview with Ksenia Ivas on Radio Promin whether their victory was a surprise for Andrii Hutsuliak and Jeffery Kenny, how did they manage to impress the audience and what will they do to properly represent Ukraine at the competition in Liverpool.

Congratulations, you are the winner! How do you feel? Did your dream come true?

Andrii: Actually, we didn't expect this, it all came as a pleasant shock, and we feel great gratitude to everyone who voted for us. It is a great responsibility in the future to represent Ukraine in a dignified manner. We will work and do everything to make the song, performance and costumes better. And everything will be Ukraine!

How did your morning start the day after you won? Did you get some sleep?

Jeffrey: It's been a hard day and of course we want to get some sleep.

Andrii: I spent half the night thinking about what to do tomorrow. I think: “Wow, how much work! But we will do it.”

How do you feel about the status of the winner? Do you already understand what happened?

Andrii: We understood all the responsibility that fell on us. But we are the same guys we were yesterday. Right now, we have to show the whole world what hearts of steel all Ukrainians have. We are unconquered, indomitable, we smile, we should be an example to follow, you should reach out to us and help us even more.

We performed, hugged with the team, went to an interview. After Eurovision, we were going to go home, we bought tickets for 1:00 a.m. Bu we won, and that's all, we wasted our tickets. So, we came home, sat, talked and went to bed.

Which of the artists congratulated you personally?

Andrii: We are pleasantly surprised, there are a lot of people! Alina Pash, Nastia Kamenskykh. In fact, there were many artists.

Jeffrey: Jamala. Yulia Sanina.

Andrii: We haven't opened our social media pages yet. The days of rehearsals in the subway were very cold. It was necessary to rehabilitate a little. We got a little sick.

Have you already watched the televised version of your performance? Maybe cameras didn't catch something that you wanted people to see?

Andrii: Great respect to the team that was involved in the organization. Everything we wanted to show, we showed. It was hard work. Several days in a row in the subway. We appreciate, love and respect them.

There is a flurry of comments on social networks, both Ukrainian and European comments appear. Have you already watched any video reactions?

Andrii: I watched the first few. We're glad that people felt everything we put into our performance, everything we put into the song, and voted for us. This is very valuable. Many positive comments. I'm sure there are negative ones, but we haven't gotten to them yet.

Many people write that they were going to vote for other participants. But at the last moment they chose you. How do you think you managed to capture the audience?

Andrii: But we didn't think about how to capture it. We did not think that we would win. We just did it as we felt. We did it sincerely. And not only us. The whole team who gave their best for what we did yesterday.

The team includes the cool Ukrainian designer Ivan Frolov, who made these wonderful suits with steel hearts, the director Oleh Bodnarchuk, our managers Yulia and Petro, and choreographer Ruslan. Everyone! This was our synergy and the corresponding result. We did our best. We take the experience we got here and move forward to Liverpool.

Did you communicate with the jury members after the competition?

Andrii: Yes, of course. We are grateful for the high ratings. We are grateful to Yulia Saninia for her comments. We will take the advice into account and do everything to make the song better.

Everyone is interested in whether you will remake the song as Yulia Sanina advised you?

Andrii: We listened to the advice and will try to make the song more powerful.

Jeffrey: We’ll change the chorus a bit.

Andrii: But only instrumental. Words are important in our song. But we’ll make the music more powerful. Perhaps we will even rewrite the vocals so that everyone can hear what a heart of steel is.

I looked at your luxurious suits and sincerely believed that you were warm in them.

Andrii: It was cold, but we are hot guys, we warmed up.

In order to officially acquire the status of a representative of Ukraine at Eurovision, you need to sign a contract with Suspilne. Do you already know when it will happen?

Andrii: We heard that it will be within five days. We are reviewing it now.

Apart from the representatives of Suspilne, with which team will you prepare the performance and, in principle, prepare for next year's contest?

Andrii: We haven't thought about it yet. In fact, we are now going to take a little break from the National Selection.

Everyone who watched the National Selection says that your performance is completely ready, and everyone agrees that this is how it should look on the stage of Eurovision 2023.

Andrii: Our mission is to surprise. If we show the same thing that everyone has already watched on YouTube, it won't have the same effect. We will make even better costumes and an even better performance. I want people who see it in Liverpool to say 'Wow!' Perhaps the performance will change completely. But our message will remain. We want to tell the whole world how unbreakable we are, how strong we are, how united we are. The whole world must be united against evil for the sake of peace.
