Osamu Hattori, head of the Ukrainian office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)*, and Kaori Konno, a representative of the organization, visited the Suspilne Uzhhorod. They were shown how the branch operates and where the equipment received from partners is being used.

During our long-term cooperation with Suspilne, JICA has been supporting the strengthening of capacity of regional hubs, like Suspilne Uzhhorod, for their emergency reporting capacity and technical resilience. These efforts help ensure that people continue to have access to reliable reporting even under extreme conditions. JICA continues to support Suspilne for ensuring broadcasting service for people of Ukraine,” says Osamu Hattori, head of the Ukrainian office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The delegation was greeted by Yevhen Tychyna, a producer at Suspilne Uzhhorod; Vasyl Stoyka, the manager of Suspilne Uzhhorod; Ivan Hasych, the chief engineer; and Andriy Koshel, the IT engineer.
The JICA representatives visited the branch’s museum and toured the ASB studio, the broadcast and control rooms, the radio studio, and the newsroom. They also met the team that creates content in the languages of national communities. The attendees paid special attention to the “Suspilne Studio” news project, which airs on the Pershyi TV Channel and the Suspilne Novyny YouTube channel.
“Our collaboration with JICA is something we’ve directly experienced in our daily work. Thanks to this cooperation, our branch received equipment that significantly improved the quality of our content and made our work more comfortable. We were delighted to welcome guests directly involved in this important cooperation to our Suspilne branch in Uzhhorod,” says Yevhen Tychyna.
