From 2008 to 2010, he held the position of commercial director at Sumy Media Service LLC. From 2010 to 2013, he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Sumy and Sumy Residents.
From 2014 to 2016, he was the CEO of Sumy Regional State Television and Radio Company, which, after transformation, became a branch of the Suspilne Ukraine — UA: SUMY, later — Public Sumy.
Since 2017, he has been a member of the board of the Suspilne Ukraine. From 2017 to 2019, he was responsible for optimising the central and regional structures of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine.
From 2019 to 2021, he was responsible for the administrative and economic direction and regional development of the company. From May to June 2019, Mykola Chernotytskyi served as acting chairman of the board of the Suspilne Ukraine.
On 27 April 2021, Mykola Chernotytskyi was elected chairman of the board of the Suspilne Ukraine.
On 1 July 2022, Mykola Chernotytskyi, Chairman of the Board of Suspilne Ukraine, was elected a member of the Executive Board of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBU Executive Board Appointments Committee supported Mykola Chernotytskyi’s candidacy during the 88th General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union.
On April 15, 2025, Mykola Chernotytskyi was elected Head of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine for the next four years.
