Mykola Chernotytskyi, Head of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine, Dmytro Kozlov, Member of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine responsible for talent development, organisation and corporate culture, and Dmytro Khilchenko, Member of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine responsible for production and technology, visited Finnish public broadcaster Yle in Helsinki on 26–27 October. Yle celebrated its centenary in September 2026.
During the working meetings, representatives of the two organisations exchanged experience in public service media management, human resources and technological development. The Suspilne Ukraine executives also joined a meeting of Yle’s executive team and learned more about the Finnish broadcaster’s operations and content production.
“During war and other crises, public service media play a particularly important role: we must ensure that people have access to verified information and remain a trusted source. From our experience at Suspilne Ukraine, we know that this takes substantial daily effort and difficult management decisions. We were pleased to share this experience with our colleagues at Yle, as this exchange helps public broadcasters better prepare for challenges,” said Mykola Chernotytskyi, Head of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine.
Suspilne Ukraine has around four thousand employees across all regions of Ukraine. Supporting staff and ensuring the broadcaster’s uninterrupted operation amid hostilities and constant shelling were key topics in the exchange with Finnish colleagues.
“It was particularly valuable for the Finnish broadcaster’s HR team to hear about the everyday experiences of the Suspilne Ukraine team during the prolonged full-scale invasion — experiences that extend beyond work. It also helped them gain a deeper understanding of the psychological and organisational challenges of working during wartime, including how these challenges have evolved,” said Dmytro Kozlov, Member of the Managing Board of Suspilne Ukraine responsible for talent development, organisation and corporate culture.
Suspilne Ukraine became the first public broadcaster in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to begin implementing its own artificial intelligence strategy and continues to develop technological approaches to content production and distribution. Dmytro Khilchenko spoke about technological development at Suspilne Ukraine and the introduction of new solutions into its teams’ work.
The visit also included a meeting with representatives of Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications.
