Suspilne PRO is the Suspilne Ukraine industry platform designed to support and develop the creative industries. It’s for those who tell stories about Ukraine—through images, sound, or words. We invest resources in developing talent, fostering knowledge exchange, and building partnerships that will shape the future of Ukrainian culture, media, and the creative economy.

Through events, professional discussions, educational programs, labs, residencies, pitch sessions, and international partnerships, we help the professional community adapt to change, develop new skills, and find new opportunities for collaboration.

We believe that the development of people and professional communities is the foundation of a strong creative economy and a vital component of Ukraine’s cultural resilience.

On September 11, Suspilne Ukraine will bring together the professional community for the second time at its annual industry event, Suspilne PRO. This year’s event will feature three thematic sessions on content visibility in the age of algorithms, the viability of projects in the market, and the transformation of the documentary filmmaker’s profession.

PROGRAM SUSPILNE PRO 2026

  • Thematic Session: “Who decides what we watch? (who controls the visibility of cultural content)”

A session exploring how the attention economy works in the modern audiovisual industry—and what it means for creators. How algorithms influence not only distribution but also production decisions; what role platforms, broadcasters, and festival curators play in shaping the cultural agenda; whether creators have real autonomy today; and where public broadcasters with a public mission fit into this ecosystem.

  • Thematic Session: “Is it enough today to simply make a good film?”

What really determines a project’s viability today? Let’s discuss the shift in the industry’s logic—from film production to creating projects with an audience; the new selection criteria for festivals, broadcasters, and platforms in 2026; and international co-production as a condition for survival.

  • Thematic Session: “Who will survive in the new world of documentary filmmaking?”

A discussion about the transformation of the roles of directors, producers, and creative teams; about the skills that are already becoming critically important; about new formats—from interactive film to series projects—and about where documentary filmmaking is headed over the next 3–5 years.
