This year’s broadcast of the 98th Oscars® ceremony on Suspilne Kultura delivered the strongest performance in recent years. According to the research company Nielsen, the pre-show, red carpet, and awards ceremony broadcasts were watched by nearly 524,000 unique TV viewers (audience aged 4+, nationwide in Ukraine).
“Oscar. Ukrainian Perspective. Pre-show” on March 15 was watched by 131,000 unique viewers (audience aged 4+, nationwide). The project achieved an audience share of 1.22% (among viewers aged 18+ in cities with populations over 50,000), which is 72% higher than last year and the best result across its four years of existence.
The live red carpet broadcast was viewed by 48,000 viewers (aged 4+, nationwide), with an audience share of 0.89% (18+, cities 50,000+). The Oscars® ceremony broadcast was watched by nearly 71,000 viewers (aged 4+, nationwide), with an audience share of 0.45% (18+, cities 50,000+).
At the same time, the strongest figures were delivered by the evening rebroadcast of the Oscars® on Monday, March 16, which attracted 411,000 unique viewers (aged 4+, nationwide), resulting in an average audience share of 1.5% (18+, cities 50,000+). This marks the best performance for an evening Oscars rebroadcast in the past three years.
On Sunday, March 22, at 21:00, Suspilne Kultura will exclusively air the International version of the Oscars® ceremony, featuring commentary by Oleksii Hnatkovskyi, a theatre director, film and stage actor.
As a reminder, on the night of March 15–16, Suspilne Kultura exclusively broadcast the 98th Oscars® ceremony. The overnight broadcast was commented by Oleksii Hnatkovskyi, with Ukrainian simultaneous interpretation provided by Yurii Mazur and Liudmyla Diachenko. Throughout the broadcast, sign language interpretation was also available, delivered by Tetiana Zhurkova and Lada Sokoliuk.
