Maksym Krechetov is a member of the Supervisory Board of Suspilne Ukraine, elected from the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People political party.

Higher education. Kyiv International University, private higher education institution, majoring in Law, professional qualification — lawyer. “Corporate Governance for Members of Supervisory Boards”, Professional Association of Corporate Governance (2021, 2023, 2024). Completed a training programme to improve his qualifications in financial literacy on 28–29 August at KSE Graduate Business School.
Maksym Krechetov has been awarded a letter of appreciation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine and two awards from the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
He began his professional career in October 1994 at the Donetsk Regional State Television and Radio Company as a children’s programme host, youth programme editor, author and host of the programme “Studmistechko”.
In June 1996, Maksym Krechetov moved to Kyiv, where he first worked as a correspondent for UNIAN and later as a correspondent for the programme “Visti” (TIA Vikna LLC).
From June 1997 to May 1998, he was the chief specialist-journalist of the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (military service).
He then worked for many Ukrainian television channels: special correspondent for Inter TV channel, special correspondent for the investigative journalism programme Dossier, as well as author and host of the daily programme 900 Seconds (both projects on the National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine), correspondent for the programme “Vikna-novyny” (STB TV channel). He worked in print and online media: editor of the Crime section of the Kyiv Telegraph newspaper, editor of the Business Life section of the Oligarch magazine, freelancer for the Delovaya Nedelya and Delovaya Stolitsa newspapers, and for the Ukrainska Pravda and Obkom websites, among others.
For several months (in 2000 and 2001), he served as press officer for the Main Directorate for Combating Organised Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, after which he returned to television, where he worked, in particular, as news editor (from October 2003 to May 2005), and later as deputy editor-in-chief of Channel 5 (until December 2006). He then held several other positions in Ukrainian television: news editor for TSN and the morning programme Breakfast with 1+1 (Channel 1+1), editor-in-chief of the programme Morning with Inter (Channel Inter), etc.
From January to July 2011, he was a correspondent for the Georgian television channel PIK (Russian-language foreign broadcasting) in the Republic of Turkey.
Upon returning to Ukraine, he worked as an editor and editor-in-chief of news and information programmes on television, and as an editor-journalist for the analytical portal Slovo i Dilo.
From October 2015 to June 2019, he was editor-in-chief of the talk show Pravo na Vladu (Right to Power) (1+1 TV channel).
In 2019–2020, he worked as an advisor to the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (non-staff) and head of the sector for covering the activities of the OPU Directorate for Information Policy of the OPU.
From March 2020 to January 2021, he was senior (creative) editor of the State Enterprise “Multimedia Platform of Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine”.
From November 2019 to the present, he has been a member of the Council on Freedom of Speech and Protection of Journalists under the President of Ukraine.
From May 2021 to the present, he has been an assistant consultant to M. Poturaev, Member of Parliament of Ukraine and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy (on a voluntary basis).
15 June 2022 — mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the rank of second lieutenant. Served as a research assistant in strategic communications at the National Defence University of Ukraine, an officer in the CIRO Department, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and the Strategic Communications Department of the Ministry of Defence.
In May 2025, he was discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to health reasons with the rank of captain.
On 6 January 2023, he was ordained as a deacon of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
