This Saturday, on 13th of December, the Grand Final of Junior Eurovision – 2025 took place. It was held in Tbilisi in the Gymnastic Hall of Olympic City. This year’s winner is Lou Deleuze with the song “Ce Monde”. The winner got 248 points, 152 from the jury and 96 from the viewers.
Ukraine took 2nd place. Ukraine was represented at the contest by 10-year-old Sofia Nersesyan from Kyiv. Sofia performed under number 6 with the song “Motanka.”
Svitlana Tarabarova became the author of the song. The composition is dedicated to the most powerful Ukrainian charm which mother give their kids.
Now this symbol has become even more powerful, because there is a legend that when danger approaches a child, the threads of the motanka glow. “Motanka” is a song about the power of a mother’s love.
Artem Kotenko, who represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “HEAR ME NOW,” became Ukraine’s spokesperson. He announced the scores of the Ukrainian National Jury — the highest score was given to Armenia.
In according to the rules of Junior Eurovision song contest the National Ukrainian jury consists of five representatives:
- Masha Kondratenko – singer and actor, finalist of the National Selection for Eurovision 2025, host of the National Selection for Junior Eurovision 2025;
- Ilona Gvozdeva – dancer and choreographer;
- Yehor Triplov – music producer, director, songwriter, and singer. Songwriter for the National Selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest – 2024;
- Vsevolod Skryma – participant and finalist of the National Selection for Junior Eurovision 2025;
- Angelina Hlogus – participant and finalist of the National Selection for Junior Eurovision 2025.
