Suspilne Ukraine announced that Ukraine will participate in Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 and will start to accept applications soon. For the fourth time singer and songwriter Svitlana Tarabarova will become a sound producer for the show. This year’s performance will be the twentieth for Ukraine through all the years of the foreign contest that will be hosted by Malta in October.

The head of Ukraine’s delegation on Eurovision  Oksana Skubinska confirmed that this year Ukraine is planning to once again take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

“This year Junior Eurovision will take place earlier than usual. Since the contest is planned for October, the National Selection Final is to be held earlier, in September. We already are preparing a lot of surprises for our Vidbir participants. The call for applications will be announced shortly. We can’t wait to see the applications from the talented children, who dream about the big stage. Continue to believe bravely,” Oksana Skubinska noted.

“Your way to Malta starts from the simple application for the contest. I am waiting and preparing together with you to amaze the world,” Svitlana Tarabarove called on.

Please note that this year Junior Eurovision will take place on the 24th of October in Malta and will be held in the MFCC arena in a village called Ta`Quali, which is about to transform into a vibrant Eurovision Town. The venue will combine the Maltese “Festa” tradition, recognized by UNESCO, with a spectacular world-class production.

As a reminder, last year Lou Deleuze from France won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Ce monde’, but France declined to host the contest.

Ukraine’s representative, Sofia Nersesyan, came second last year with the song ‘Motanka’.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will feature talented performers aged 9 to 14 from across Europe and other countries.
